Jetting Defects

Jetting defects are directly related to the velocities being set too high
in relationship to a specific position of part orientation. As the plastic flows
the speed creates a visual jetting defect.

The best method of understanding at what position jetting occurs is velocity profiling.
This procedure is used to determine the part flow properties (see velocity profiling).

Jetting can be improved through velocity speed and changes, as well as staged velocity
position adjustments.

It is important to note the position of the defect in correlation with the velocity stage
it relates to. Understanding this helps to determine the best method of adjustment.
